My very first dead related show and it was more than I could have ever asked for. First set was a lot of fun and the second set was just phenomenal.
...
You gotta love Box of Rain to finish off a great fathers day.

well Bonnaroo 2006 has come and passed. Being my first Bonnaroo all i had to say was WOW! people, music and heat were the call of the week. this show
...
was a highlight for me seeing as i have never seen any form of the Dead before, so my viriginity was finally gone! after a long day(or should i say days) of being in the sun, the last day came. stage left is where we were. BTW, if you hit stage left at Bonnaroo at like 2:30 and 3, the sun has gone behind the stage and it is shady over there, plus there are PortaPoos right there too..just some info. when they finally hit the stage after Bela and MOE. we were done like dinner. (in more then one way!) the skies looked threatening but there still had been no rain. Opening with Uncle John's Band was good, but the topper of it all was Scarlett>Fire. i really think i almost shit my pants when that came on. my girlfriend, also a bonnaroo virgin and dead virgin was squealling with delight as well for this. (think of the 7/6/77 Dead shows-best in time) then set 2 came and i was blown right away. the rain finally decided to come about 1/2 way through the set and man did it piss. we were cold and wet but really didn't give a rats ass. this show, plus the whole bonnaroo experience, ranks number one in all the concerts and festivals i have ever been to or seen, plus meeting Mike Gordon on the friday night at the Hot Buttered Rum show topped the weekend off too. this is a great recording and i am glad to have it, no only in the memory, but as a hard copy for a constant reminder that my 30th year was the best year of my life! BONNNNNNNNAROOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
